Fortitude Investigative War Research

Erin Faith Allen is an investigative war historian and founder of Fortitude Investigative War Research. She specializes in reconstructing the full war of the 42nd “Rainbow” Division including their liberation of Dachau, the recovery of women's wartime histories, artists in wartime, and the lives of victims of the Holocaust and Nazi persecution. Working from primary archives, military records, eyewitness testimony, and family documents, she restores the human story and returns it to the families, scholars, institutions, and filmmakers who seek it.
