My good friend, and brilliant filmmaker, John Saponara and I just spent two days in Baltimore with a national treasure filming, laughing, and learning about his war.
We came here to begin filming the project I’ve been working on quietly for over a year and a half - ever since I met my first veterans of the 42nd “Rainbow” Division in 2017.
Lockered ‘Bud’ Gahs and I have been chatting on the phone for many months, so meeting him in person was a great joy. He shared so much of his memories and his time served in Europe with the famed 42nd Rainbow Division.
From the docks at Marseilles to a monastery during occupation in Austria, Bud was on the front lines and we are going to take you along for the ride.
Bud served in the Anti-tank Co, 222nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd “Rainbow” Division.
